The symbols below will help guide your True Grain Bread Experience:

icon-wheat2 Contains Red Fife Heritage Wheat. Red Fife is the genetic grandparent of all Canadian Wheat. We choose Red Fife for the unique flavour it delivers and the fact that it is a pure variety and not hybridized. See "Our Grains" for more info on Red Fife Wheat
BC Grown - All of the grain in this bread was grown in BC. It is important to us to reduce "food miles" wherever possible and support BC producers
This symbol means the bread is wheat free. We make many wheat free loaves using Spelt, Kamut, Rye or Emmer. More info on these grains is available in "Our Grains"
icon-fresh4 This symbol is the logo of the Island Farmers Alliance. You will see it on products that are grown or raised on Vancouver Island. For our purposes it means the grain was grown on Vancouver Island. We are increasingly seeking local organic farmers to grow grain for our breads
This symbol means there is no commercial yeast in the bread. The bread was leavened naturally using a wheat or rye sourdough starter. This creates a more flavourful bread and exceptional bread experience
We use this symbol to explain that the product has a minimum of 95% Certified Organic ingredients. All of our grains are certified organic. Some of the seeds or other ingredients are not certified organic. For example, we choose to get our hazelnuts from a Cowichan Valley producer vs. buying them organically from overseas
This denotes that the bread is made using the whole grain. These breads are generally more dense and higher in fibre because the bran has not been sifted off in the milling process
These products were made with on-site, freshly stone milled flour. See "Our Mill" for more information on our mill
